I have been tutoring since the Spring of 2002, before I graduated from the University of Richmond in the United States. At that time I worked for a private tutoring company called University Instructors. I taught high school and college level maths and sciences. Additionally, I was contracted to teach test prep classes in these subjects at local high schools. I worked at several local area high schools teaching math, chemistry, earth sciences, and physics. I also taught reading to children in grammar school. I really enjoyed my work in Richmond and only left because an opportunity in arose in the UK.

In the Summer of 2002, I moved to Swansea, Wales. I worked with a youth project and taught DJing, music, and religion at schools throughout the Swansea area. I also worked after school in a youth drop in center, where I helped many students with their homework. Working with students outside of the school environment provided a much more casual learning experience. Students were more comfortable asking the questions they were too nervous to ask during regular classes.

During this time I worked on a Master's course in Teaching English. I finish 1/3 of my Master's work during the Summer of 2003. During this program I taught an adult class every day. I also now have a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) certification. After finishing my time in Wales, I returned to the United States.

Back in my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee I tried a new career. I worked for Dell selling computers. Within a few months, I was training new sales reps. I simply couldn't resist education!

While working at Dell, I applied for a teaching position in Japan. The next summer, I was off to the far East to teach high school. For two years, I taught high school English at a variety of public high schools, ranging from high academic to trade schools. I also worked with after school programs, weekend excursions, and physical education.

I have now moved to Guildford, Surrey and I am looking forward to meeting more new students.
